Carbon Fiber

I'm curious, how long do you think it will be before we start seeing carbon fiber in cars for consumers who don't exactly shell out 100k minimum for a car? I'd imagine it would be awhile because thats a material cost vs. a technological advancement that will become easier to replicate.

Like I said I think it would be awhile. I mean you can already get things like custom carbon fiber hoods as add ons for cars and Lamborghini just made an almost completely carbon fiber car the Sesto Elemento. I was just wondering if anyone else was wondering if it would be more common in the near future.

doesn't the Mitsu EVO MR (I think that is the one) have a carbon fiber roof? maybe it is just lighter weight but I seem to remember CF.

According to wikipedia and google blog posts thats a custom option but aluminum is standard I believe.
