Ford is discontinuing the Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car. What do you think will be the next look for police cruisers and taxis? Smaller car to go green or something more tough?

New York is looking for a custom vehicle for their taxis that wouldn't be available to the public. A site has been set up for feedback on the issue and design ideas: http://www.taxioftomorrow.com/.

There are so many different body styles for taxis today, limiting to one might be a mistake.

Why would the body style of a taxi even matter??

historically, for both taxis and police cars, there has been a preference for body-over-frame cars instead of unibody because of easier body repair. they can straighten a frame and put a car back on the road but if a unibody (most cars today) gets hit hard enough, it is done.

this site you linked to though doesn't seem to be about that at all.... ahh well, to each their own : )
