So I was just curious if any electric cars in 2011 will have any decent travel rates before they die. I know the Leaf is only supposed to be able to travel like a 100miles before it tanks and I think Tesla's roadster gets about the same at like 150? Anyway are the any electric cars that would be able to get like 300miles even? I know Hybrids can but I'm not sure about pure electrics.
"Vegata what does carlocate.com say about that car's horsepower?"
"ITS OVER 9000!!!"
"WHAT 9000 THATS IMPOSSIBLE?!?!?!?!"

Regardless of how many miles some electric toaster gets, I'll never drive one. I say you go buy a Nissan Leaf, take out the battery to charge up your cell phone, and throw a V8 in that bad boy. I'm not interested in MPG. I measure my rides in GPM. Yeah that's gallons per mile babay!

Electrics are here and we should all consider buying them. Anything that cuts pollution is part of the solution.

Is anyone else worried about the limited range of an electric car?

Personally I don't trust them yet. Maybe I'd go with a Volt since its got a gas engine as well (which to me is cheating but a nice failsafe) but the Leaf or a Tesla...dunno wouldn't trust them. They claim one distance. The Tesla Roadster claimed to have a driving distance of about 250 I believe and Top Gear ran it dry in 50miles. The Leaf is only supposed to be able to go about 100miles and that drops significantly if you put the car over 90mph I believe.

Electrics are not expensive enough for me to even consider buying yet. I only drive over $80,000 cars.
