My car flashes a service light when it's getting close to needing an oil change and then when the light stays on, it's required. Well my car has been flashing the warning for a week or two now and I have a 5 hour drive to make this weekend. How urgent is the oil change? Am I ok to keep driving when the service light is on or should I make that a priority?

Most of those sensors are time based/ mileage based. You should change your oil around every 4k miles driven. Unless you are noticing smoking or other bad effects I'd say you'd be good for a few day to day drives...but with a 5 hour drive I'd get it changed...yeah definitely get it changed.
